Waving, not drowning...?

I received an invitation to preview/participate in Google Wave.

Damn tricky getting used to it.

Now I know how my Dad felt when I tried to explain computer stuff to him.

You know, if Jabba was here, she'd get it in a minute!!

A little Boo

Today I was King of the World.

Posted by Picasa

Yeah, hi.......

Wow, has it been THAT long since I posted? A lot has happened and a lot has not happened, but hey, that's life.

Work has gone through quite a few changes. The "wonderful" global financial crisis has slowed business down. We, well, them not me, made 7 people redundant and repositioned 4 others. Including me! I actually got a promotion! To warehouse supervisor. Now, they said it's a trial but I feel confident to say that I don't think it will change back. Revised staffing levels, revised budgets, revised work procedures...... it has taken a while but we are all getting the hang of it.

I have a car now! Woooty Woooo! A little 1985 Nissan Pulsar. It has the same power as a lawn mower but it gets me mobile. The first weekend that I had the car and the girls here we went crazy. Going here and there, back and forth. It's amazing how much you appreciate it after been without a car for so long.

I get to see Boo several times a week. She is growing up so fast. She has started going to daycare twice a week for 5 hours. You can really notice a change in her development. It has been great for her.

Tiger is still going out with RunnerBoy. It has been 11 months, so that has been nice for her. She had school interviews recently for a school mentoring program next year and she got accepted. Apart from applying herself to her studies she will be helping others several years/grades below her.

Jabba goes to high school next year and is looking forward to it. I mean, really looking forward to it. She's the real smarty of the family. Doing Math and Science several grades above her. Even has a partial scholarship because of her math smartyness. (but not as cleverer as my wordsmithery!)

Life in my little unit/home is coming along nicely. I finally got a decent and bigger bed. King size. I could spin around like a compass needle on that. It's freaking big! Moving it in by myself was awful fun.

I'm growing a moustache for Movember again this year and I love hate it. We have had hot weather for the past week. 35celsius/95F as a daily average and it makes you want to melt. I hate hot weather and with a moustache it makes it terrible!! The mo this year is based a bit on James Hetfield from Metallica. I'll post a pic soon.

Well, that's it for now.
I'll be back soon. I promise.

The back cracker.

Went to the chiropractor on Friday.
Nice lady, the evil laugh was a bit unsettling.
It wasn't just a simple click and a crack though to fix.
As I lay face down on the table it felt like she was rearranging
all my discs like a Scrabble champion getting a 7 letter word.

Turns out I had a few areas misaligned.
After all said and done it took a day or two before I stopped
feeling tense in a few places. Why? Because they had been out
for some time and then put "back", the muscles have to
get used to working the right way.
And here I was thinking it was lack of coffee!

Oh, and I'm also off to buy a new bed.

Win some, lose some!

For the last 5 or so nights I have had really
bad sleepy time. I think 4 hours was the most.
And it wasn't good sleep either. The other night I
actually remember part of a dream. That makes it
about 8 dreams in 15 years!

But last night I was that tired and headachy
that after an early dinner I dragged myself
in to bed at 7pm and didn't wake until 4:30am.

"Yippee!"?? Uh uh! Now I have a sore back.
Middle/lower back tightness!!
Oh I can stand straight, just not bend or twist.
The only time that would be good is if I was in Oz Prison!!

"Hey Pa! The North are a coming!"

Isn't it always the way.
Some lonely hillbilly type spots a UFO.
No one is ever going to believe him.

And he shoots at them too!

Boo & I were sitting outside this morning and she
encountered her first butchy boy bug (pill bug).

Size 9 pain

I bought new shoes and instead of wearing them in a little at a time,
oh no, king doofus went for a walk. Quite a bit of a walk.
It wasn't long before my calves and shins ached!!
And it wasn't long after that the I reckon I was walking
in tha same motion as a claymation zombie!

But hey, my feet looked good!

How cheap ??

$5 BUCKS!! WTF!!

Sorry, but you'll have to pay me at least $100 to watch a full season.

$80 and popcorn, but that's my final offer.

**ring ring**
Hello
mumble mumble
WHAT!
mumble mumble
NO!! Really?
**clunk**

My mistake. Apparently YOU pay THEM.
I just saved $5 and the possibility of going insane watching Screetch.

I can't look at him the same way since that Dirty Sanchez vid.

Making stuff into rap.

Go on, do it!

It's just a little bit of fun.

Wow, tea flavours have come a long way...!

Nothing says "drink me" like paper people that are
passing blood in their urine and won't even get out of the spa to do that!

T-shirt designs.

Here are a few t-shirt designs I found.
I'd wear them.

Enjoy.

But be prepared for ninja-style attack punch in the balls!

On the other side of town it happens almost weekly.

Call me optimistic.

Probably not at work on "Casual Friday".

Yelling can be fun.
Epecially to help get your point across.
Don't agree? THEN LET"S TAKE THIS OUTSIDE!

See? I feel better already.

What's rockin' ?

So, what's the latest music getting "high rotation" on my phone/mp3 player?

Chickenfoot!

Yeah, yeah. Funny name for a band, but wow, what a band.
Sammy Hagar is the lead singer and Michael Anthony on bass.
So that's half of Van Halen when they were at their peak
(of sales and decent tunes). They provide great vocals and harmonies.

On guitar is Joe Satriani, who is a guitar wizard that is much better than
Eddie Van Halen. If Eddie and Joe had a guitar "shoot out", Joe would
win because of his better talent, oh, and the fact that his eyeballs aren't hanging
out of his head in some drunken stupor that Eddie has lived in for the past 10 years.
Poor Eddie. All that talent wasted because vodka induced triple vision and inflated ego.
And Chickenfoot's rhythm monkey on the skins is Chad Smith from
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Who cares about drummers, you say?
Well after 20+ years of Rush worship you get to appreciate a decent
drummer and Chad is very good. He plays a hard rocking funk beat with great
drum patterns that help the tracks rather than mindlessly bang and count along.

The is a great hard rock album.
Best track? mmm. .
Future's in the Past.
It's over 6 and a half minutes long but by the 4 minute mark you'll
have goosebumps that will carry you through to the end.

Crap product of the week.

There's a fine line between genius and stupidity.
But this is Stupid with a capital S!
Or am I wrong?
Not sure about you, but I don't want to walk along the street and
have my ass flash the word "Action" with every step!!

I see what I see. . . . .

A little Boo for you.

I use a small pocket size digital camera that I keep forgetting to upload to the computer. So after 6 weeks or more, I finally did it. Organizing photos on the 'puter has become a bit of an issue with me lately. You see, over the last few years there has been 5 different cameras and 3 phones to take and upload photos and videos. And thanks to the wonderful (sarcasm intended) way that Windoze talks to these devices, it has put them in folders and an order that would confound the worlds greatest computer scientists. Well maybe not SansPantaloon but you know what I mean!

Soooo, anyway, for over a week I went through over 2000 photos on the 'puter and looked at their properties, created new folders labeling them by years and months and sorted them all. Then I started to "tag" them by people, location and/or event.

And I feel bad because I thought I would've had more photos. Have I taken enough? I still have 700-800 older printed photos (oh, they were the days....) to scan and sort. How many photos is enough before you stop thinking "Sheesh, I've missed out on a bit of their lives!!"?

Does this bag make my head look small?

Now this is fashion!

I found a pen! Bwahahahaha!

Now I'm gonna try it on the wall!

Spooky and they're Kooky . . . .

Thanks to Google Maps, here is a pic of my new home.
It's a nice 2 bedroom unit. Freshly painted and new carpet.
Looking at the pic, mine is the red circled unit.
The blue unit belongs to a nice, friendly 70 year old lady.
She is always the first to say hello and Jen is out in the gardens
as much as she can.

But the green circled neighbours......mmmmm.
I have yet to see them. Jen says they stay to themselves.
I will ask her if she has seen them at all.
Because they haven't made any appearance at all.
The day I started to move in, Tiger said she saw an eye
stare out from behind a curtain.

Every night their front light goes on as if they are expecting company.
Never is a sound heard from them.
Never have they been seen.
Weeds fill their front garden.
They have no car and no one has been seen going in or going out.

It's so. . . The 'Burbs.
It's so. . . Monster House.
It's so. . . . frikkin' creepy!

Tweeter

Dancing with the "stars", 60 minutes (crap stories) or Australian Idol. No wonder I feel like kicking the tv! Oh well, back to the computer.

Can't beat'em, then start your own!

Twitter is all the rage at the moment. But thanks to the
bloated, lumbering phone company that my phone is
locked with, I can't "do it" via my mobile/cell.

So tthhhhhhtttttt!!!!!!
Stick your SMS fee per message up your coin slot!
I'll do my Twittering the hard way. Via the computer.

OK, so I have to "twitter" on my Twitter page AND I'll start
my own thing here. It wont be long before that multi-billion
dollar company is begging me to do it via the phone.

OMG. Mcguyver episode on tv.
How depressing. BAN THE MULLET!
Also, sock puppets act better.

Here's the real Twitter:
